Paris - streets
If you haven't heard about it then you haven't been in Paris. The new public bicycle scheme called velib'. Stations apparently every 300 metres across Paris put thousands of bikes at the disposal of commuters. Just sign in, pick up, ride and drop off at the station nearest your destination. The best way to see the city, and cheap too (not a word I thought I would ever use in Paris). Great fun at 3am after that party instead of taking a taxi.

Aerial
Almost as aerial as you can get in Paris without a helicopter. This is from the second floor on the Eiffel tower, looking down the Champs de Mars towards the Ecole Militaire. In the distance you can see the hideous Montparnasse tower. Wonder who got paid how much to let that get built, it stands out like a sore thumb over the restricted height buildings of Paris. The white and grey of the buildings carefully camouflage the skyline in the non-weather that seems to be characteristic of this 'summer' in Paris.
